Our farming neighbours west of the range are doing it tough.
As our way of supporting the drought relief efforts, we’re partnering with good pubs to put on Karma Kegs across the Northern Rivers.
100% of funds raised will purchase bales from Northern Rivers farmers. We’ve then contracted trucks to get those bales over the Great Dividing Range and out to farmers in need in Northern NSW.
We’ll kick it off with a truck of 100 round bales shipping out at the end of August. After that, the more funds we raise the more bales we can buy and trucks we can hire.
Join us for a few beers to help out the local farming communities.
Beach Hotel, Byron Bay | Sunday 26th August – 12:00pm
We’re stoked to announce that $10,000 was raised collectively through the support of Brookie’s Gin, The Beach Hotel, Salumi, Kidz Klub and McGrath Real Estate at the Beach Hotel Brews for Bales event on Sunday 26th August. Cheers to everyone that came along and contributed and a big thank you to the local businesses involved in this initiative.
$5000 will be going towards the Brews for Bales program to buy hay bales for our farmers and the other $5000 will be going to R U Aware We Care – assist farming families who need a helping hand from the New England Northwest Region.
We wanted to support local and ensure 100% of the funds we raise are having a direct impact, so we’ve decided to purchase the bales and hire the trucks ourselves. This one is off to the Pilliga region with 52 large round bales (and many cases of beer) purchased from Northern Rivers farmers with the funds raised from our Karma Kegs.
Cabarita Hotel, Cabarita | Saturday 8th September – 2:00pm
We’re putting on two Karma Kegs at the Cabarita Hotel from 2.00pm, with all funds raised on the day going towards buying bales for our local farmers. Music and raffle prizes on the day. Come along and support a good cause.
