Last Sunday, we were stoked to have East Point as one of the major sponsors of this year’s Byron Bay Triathlon.
Byron turned on a picture-perfect Autumn day, as over 2000 athletes rolled into town looking for that finish line and a bit of fun.
From young kids to the over 60s, there was amazing energy among all of the competitors, with everyone excited to get back out there after a year of Covid cancellations.
Across the course, there was a lot of hard work and sweat going into everyone’s efforts, but all of this was quickly replaced by huge smiles and palpable joy at the race’s end.
To toast everyone’s efforts, we held an official post-race session at the Byron Bay SLSC with the BBQ cranking, live music playing, East Point and Pacific Ale behind the bar and the new Green Coast Lager cans getting a positive response from all.
For us, the icing on the cake came at the end of the event when we realised when we tallied $3000 in funds raised from beer sales for inGrained, our charity foundation. All proceeds from the event will now go back into the community via local grassroots organisations.
We are thrilled to have been a part of such a positive day for the Byron community and look forward to being involved with the event for many years to come.
Congratulations to all of the athletes who took part, with a special shoutout to our Stone & Wood team, Lachie, Abbie and Ben, who competed in the sprint relay and did us proud!
