On the back of the bush fires and the floods, COVID-19 is not exactly what Australia needs right now (or ever) …
Every business endures challenges and obstacles and Stone & Wood isn’t any different (we were born in the middle of the GFC). We have always taken the view that by working together we can stand by each other when things get rough, our communities have looked after us in tough times and we’ve been fortunate enough to be in a position to repay the favour when things haven’t been so rosy for them.
Over the last few days I have walked around our breweries, offices and tasting rooms, have visited customers and suppliers, and all the communities that make our business what it is, it’s fair to say that anxiety levels are pretty high at the moment. The good news is that we are still brewing and delivering beer and although it’s not “business as usual”, it’s about as close as we can get. We have been working on modifying the way we work (including our casual co-workers) to ensure that we can all continue to work together in a responsible way, while ensuring everyone’s safety. We have split our teams into tribes, some tribes working from home while others visit our worksites, and vice versa etc. We are in close talks with our suppliers and customers and are working on creative solutions to problems as they arise.
Our Tasting Rooms will remain open for the time-being and like everyone, we have upped our level of hygiene standards to reduce risks. However, as things are changing daily, please keep an eye on our website and socials for updates. If you’re not up for getting out-and-about but still feel like a beer, our online store will have you sorted and we’re including free shipping for the next month.
From all of us at Stone & Wood, thanks for your ongoing support.
Now, go wash your hands.
Cheers, Ross
