BREAKING GROUND AT OUR EWINGSDALE RD SITE
Last Tuesday 31 October, in good company and with celebratory Green Coast Lager’s in hand, we broke ground at our Ewingsdale Rd site.
Relocating our spiritual home to Ewingsdale Rd, the purpose-built brewery and office space designed by Harley Graham Architects will bring everything back under one roof (the brewery, tasting room and offices). As the local independent brewer, we’re proud to continue investing in our local Northern Rivers community.
The team are pumped to kick off our next chapter and see the site take shape. By relocating our spiritual home within the local region, rather than outsourcing growth, we’re choosing to support the community that supports us. Giving back by creating more jobs and strengthening our valued relationships with local partners.
As the existing and original site in the Arts and Industrial Estate has evolved with the demands of the business and the team has grown, plus more visitors wanting to see the birthplace of Stone & Wood, we knew a move would be imminent.
Brewing all our beers onsite in Byron and up the road in Murwillumbah, and as the original brewers of Byron Bay, we want to share that experience and our story with those visitors who seek us out.
For the project, we’ve made a conscious choice to work with as many local suppliers as possible. Our builders AGS Commercial is a family owned company based in Lismore who will be bringing local architect Harley Graham’s designs to life. Byron Bay Herb Nursery will landscape the space with a focus on integrating native plants, whilst Andy Ceglinski from Wooden Anchor is looking after sourcing reclaimed and sustainable timber for the build.
We’re pumped to continue investing in our local community, and can’t wait to share more exciting news about the project as development progresses. Stay tuned!
