It was an earlier start than usual on Saturday morning, as Brad shared the spotlight with Weekend Sunrise’s James Tobin. It felt like the day was done when the camera’s were put away at nine thirty but that was just the beginning… We were ready for the afternoon to roll into the evening, when the gates would open and the Stone Beer would flow for Festival of the Stone.
The dollar coin donations for the Northern Rivers Community Fund rattled in our half kegs before the 3pm kick off and as the sun set locals, friends, tourists, lycra wearing Byron Triathlon participants, customers and die hard Festival of the Stone devoted attendees – from Sydney, Melbourne, Newcastle and even Goodiwindi packed into our brewery.
Jack the Snipper barely stopped for a sip of beer, punters had a crack at Art Park’s screen printing stall and people filled their bellies with locally sourced produce by Salumi Australia and street food by 100 Mile Table.
As Andrea Soler got the crowd inside our brewery jamming, people gravitated toward our caravan and its flowing beer taps, especially when the call came that the first keg of 2014 Stone Beer had been tapped.
We couldn’t have been happier with the incredible turn out of people and support from the local community, we just hope you had as much fun as we did!
Stone Beer is now out and starting to hit taps along the East coast – for a full listing check here
Our caravan Bonnie, left the Bay enroute to Melbourne for Good Beer Week and GABS. She’ll be pouring all your faves plus Stone Beer on Saturday night at Holidaze from 4pm at Monster & Bear – if you’re in town, see you there!
