A recap of our time spent down South
The beautiful thing about hanging out in the city is that cafes, bars and restaurants are filled with people that aren’t gripped with guilt about not getting to the beach or making the most of the sunshine. If brunch turns to lunch and then a long lazy afternoon of socializing…that’s cool.
Having survived last week’s festivities of Good Beer Week and then GABS, it was good to arrive back to the warmth of Byron and think back about the buzz of Melbourne; the incredible vibe of Melbourne’s bar and pub scene, the passionate beer drinkers and the seemingly endless menus crammed with incredible produce, food and drinks.
Our pop up event Surfari was a blast and we can’t wait to do the next one in Sydney. Melbourne’s Monster & Bear space was transformed into a quasi warehouse wilderness, with a backdrop of McTavish’s surf films, Taco Truck’s Mexican, cruisy tunes, table tennis and quality beer from Clyde’s taps.
A detox may be in order, especially after GABS in Sydney tomorrow, but it’s been well worth it being able to catch up with those in the industry, our suppliers who were in town, our customers and friends.
For us, this is what it’s all about…being able to catch up, have a laugh, support the people who support us and share good beer.
Cheers.
