
STONE & WOOD ‘BEER, NOT AS YOU KNOW IT’ COCKTAIL COMPEITION T&Cs
1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 Information on how to enter & prize details as outlined in all communications regarding the ‘Beer, Not As You Know It’ beer cocktail competition, hosted by Stone & Wood Brewing in partnership with Brewsvegas, form part of these Terms & Conditions of Entry. By entering or participating in this Competition, each entrant and participant fully & unconditionally agrees to & accepts these Terms & Conditions of Entry & the decisions of the Promoter, which are final and binding.
2. COMPETITION ENTRY
2.1 Entry is only open to current Brisbane hospitality & brewing employees over the age of 18 holding current RSA Certification in Brisbane. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate families and any agency associated with this Competition are ineligible to enter.

2.3 Contestants must supply the recipe(s) entered along with the completed on-line entry form before 11:59AEST 01/03/2020 via the submission form.
3. DRINK CRITERIA
- The ‘Beer, Not As You Know It’ cocktail competition is only open to Brisbane hospitality employees over the age of 18 with a valid RSA certification
- Participants must create a new, imaginative & great tasting serve. Every drink must be a new & original recipe (recipes must be unpublished by printed or electronic media).
- The term “Serve” is limited to the participants interpretation. Eg a boiler maker, a mixed drink, a cocktail etc.
- Entered serves can be created in any style & served in any vessel. Any method (build, stir, shake, muddle, blend, shoey) may be used to prepare the submitted serve.
- The serve must contain ‘The Gatherer’ by Stone & Wood Brewing.
- The Serve must contain one or more fresh ingredients incorporating the idea of locally ‘gathered’
- All ingredients used must be expressed in millilitres, or for small quantities (dashes, drops, wedges, splash, pinch etc.)
- Participants should supply the recipe(s) entered along with the completed online entry form before 11:59AEST 01/03/2020

4. SELECTION AND JUDGING CRITERIA
4.1 All serves that conform to the rules are judged by a panel comprising of Stone & Wood employees & industry guests.
4.2 None of those involved in the judging process will be informed of the competitor’s identity or the venue where they work until the competitor presents their cocktail on Monday March 16th 2020 4.3 All competitor’s recipe serves will be judged on the following criteria:
APPEARANCE: People taste with their eyes. Does it look beautiful
and delicious? Would this serve appeal to the social media frothers
(influencers)?
Is it stimulating the saliva glands in your mouth?
Does this serve look awesome? Is it competition worthy?
AROMA & TASTE: does your nose enjoy the scent of this serve?
Thinking of temperature and texture, does this serve massage your taste buds?
Does it whet your whistle?
Are the flavours dancing harmoniously or are they stepping on each other’s
toes? Would you order another one?
INNOVATION/CREATIVITY: the wow factor balance between genius and
pretentious. Is it approachable, but still exciting?
What about the flavour combination?
Has the serve been done before or is this new news?
FRESH/LOCAL INGREDIENTS: Is the use of fresh, locally sourced
ingredients accurate & appealing?
Are these local ingredients good friends with Stone & Wood?
UNDERSTANDING THE BRAND – Does the serve showcase an understanding
& link to the history of The Gatherer?
4.4 Based on the judging criteria, the votes of the initial selection panel will determine the shortlist for the industry ‘showdown’.
4.5 Entrants selected into the industry ‘showdown’ will be notified by 06/03/2020 by phone and/or email by the selection panel.
5. THE ‘SHOWDOWN’
5.1 Stone & Wood
Brisbane (99 Bridge Street, Fortitude Valley) will host the ‘Showdown’ at 99
Bridge Street, Fortitude Valley on Monday the 16th of March whereby
selected entrants will present their recipe to the panel of judges. Each
entrant is required to produce one serve.
5.2 Successful entrants will receive 16x375ml of ‘The Gatherer’ free of charge.
5.3 ‘The Gatherer’ will be provided by Stone & Wood Brewing free of charge for use in preparing the serve for judging.
5.4 Entrants will provide all ingredients, with exception to The Gatherer (5.2), to produce a singular serve of their recipe, at the cost of the individual or representing venue.
5.5 The competitors will be narrowed down to 2 finalists who will move forward into
the ‘Championship’ round.
5.6 The ‘Championship’ competitors will have their recipes refined & prebatched in preparation for sale at Stone & Wood Brisbane on Sunday 22nd of March. Stone & Brewing will incur all associated costs & will retain all associated takings.
6. THE ‘CHAMPIONSHIP’
6.1 Stone & Wood
Brisbane (99 Bridge Street, Fortitude Valley) will host the ‘Championship’ on
Sunday the 22nd of March. The competing champions will be present to
serve &/or spruik their creation from 14:00 – 16:45 as voted by the general
public. Cocktails will be served in pairs; 2x 160ml serves.
6.2 Voting will open at 14:00 & cease at 16:45 with the winner announced at
17:00.
6.3 Stone & Wood Brisbane patrons present & over the age of 18 are legible to vote following the purchase of the cocktail pair.
7. PRIZE – THE GOLDEN GROWLER
7.1 The winning entry as decided by via vote (6.3) will receive the ‘GOLDEN GROWLER’ which entitles the recipient to a weekly refill of a Stone & Wood Brewing beer, available on draught at the time of collection, from Stone & Wood Brisbane (99 Bridge Street, Fortitude Valley) for 12 months, free of charge. Valid from 22/03/2020 – 28/03/2021.
7.2 The recipient must be over the age of 18 & present the Golden Growler in person to receive the refill.
7.3 There is a maximum of 1 refill per week. STRICTLY NO ACCRUALS.
7.4 No substitute vessel or recipient will be accepted unless prior written consent has been attained from Stone & Wood Brewing.
7.5 Refills are not to be consumed on premise at any given time.
8. PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
8.1 The promoter collects personal
information about you to enable you to participate in this Competition. If you
do not provide your personal information, the Promoter will not be able to
enter you into this competition. All personal information collected about you
by the promoter will be collected, stored & used in accordance with the
promoter’s privacy policy, which is available at www.stoneandwood.com.au
8.2 By entering into this competition, each entrant & participant
agrees that the promoter may use this information (including without limitation
the entrant’s name & likeness), disclose this information to other
companies strictly associated with this competition, & publish it in any
media for future promotional, marketing & publicity purposes without any
further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant or participant.
Information collected for the purpose of this competition, may be used by the
promoter to send you information regarding future competitions & other
relevant activities & products of the promoter. You will be given the
choice whether or not you wish to receive future information from the promoter.
8.3 Your personal information will not be released to external parties other
than those directly involved in this competition. The promoter will not
disclose or sell personal information about you. A request to access, update or
correct any information about you should be directed to the Promoter’s Privacy
